The Weak Confounds The Wise

Scripture: I Corinthians l:27 (Phillips)...'For look at your own calling as Christians,
my brothers. You don't see among you many of the wise (according to the world's
judgment). But, God has chosen what the world calls foolish to shame the wise;
he has chosen what the world calls foolish (weak) to shame the strong. He has
chosen those of little strength and small repute, yes, and even things which have
no real existence to explode the pretensions of the things that are - that no man
may boast in the Presence of God. Yet, from the same God, you have received
your standing in Jesus Christ, and he has become for us the true wisdom - a
matter in practice of being made righteous and holy, in fact of being redeemed.
And, this makes us see the truth of scripture. He who glories, let him glory in the
Lord.'
God chooses people who are weak and in themselves know they are nothing,
because those people are the ones that have to rely on God to bring whatever
they are called to do to pass. Our role is to partner with Him in it - confessing we
are not the source or enough - but that He is. So, we boast about our good God
who graciously offers us His grace. We rejoice in our weakness, as God meets us
right where we are to gift us His strength and His power.
He receives glory not only when things are going the way we hope, but, also
when we recognize that - He is sustaining us when things don't go well. The
greatest example is the cross. It is there where the Son demonstrated trust in the
Father. He manifested His glory in weakness, suffering, and death.
Isaiah 40:29 says, 'He gives power to the weak and strengths to the
powerless.'
(God Uses Flawed People)... How can we get power from God? The Holy
Spirit enables us to obey God in his strength rather than by our own strength. As
we trust and hear him, God's Spirit who dwells in us, will produce his very
character as we yield to Him and enpowers us to be His witnesses. We must
never stop breathing through His Holy Spirit. We need to dwell in His Presence
within us, 24 hours a day/7 days a week. We need to practice this throughout our
lives to ensure we continue to live as God wants.
Each wakes up each day. Will we accept our weaknesses so His power can
arise within us to go through the day walking in and through His Presence in us by
His Holy Spirit?
Who will listen and who will turn away. Choose this day whom you will serve.
Choose life and live.
My decision...Though I am weak, He is strong. He is my Light shining out of
darkness. It is He that I gave my life. In Him, will I trust! Amen.
Jeremiah 3:l5 ESV..And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed
you with knowledge and understanding.
