Today's Foolish Virgins
When the Lord speaks about the Parable of the l0 Virgins, we need to
understand that all those women symbolize everyone who feels they
know God. However, there was and is a big difference between them
and the amount of oil that they possess.
The oil is and has always pertained to the amount of the oil of the Holy
Spirit that we possess in our lives.
Many are afraid to mention anything about the Holy Spirit in their lives
afraid of what others may think. When in the Holy Scriptures, it is a
known fact that 'unless you be born again , no man will see the
Kingdom of God....See John 3:3. Sadly, there are many who know the
truth who are converted but have only gone so far in their spiritual walk.
Here are 5 characteristics of the lacking of virgins today.....
l) The five foolish virgins represent those who have been converted in
the church but never have been baptized with the Presence of God's
anointing of the Holy Spirit which comes down from heaven. That is the
'reserve' oil which came to seal them by means they are people who
have no real life...See...'The Seal of the Holy Spirit' for further details.
2) In Matthew 25:2, see what these foolish virgins asked of the wise,
"Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' This proves that
the other virgins were different, seemed to operate at a higher level, a
different dimension, had more knowledge and awareness, and had what
they didn't have. That is these wise virgins knew who were spiritual and
those who were not. These unwise virgins were lazy and were
neglectful in doing, in being, and in seeking what it take to grow and
climb up higher in their communion with God.
3) The reserve oil represents the person who is baptized with the Holy
Spirit and maintains their communion with God irregardless of others
around them or what they may say or think. The neglectful ones are
mainly dependent on their church, pastor, a good family member, the
next church outing. These in truth have never activated a one-on-one
personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This only proves their
lack of sufficient oil.
4) They know what they need to do but don't want to leave their comfort
zone and lifestyle in both their traditions and religion. It is something
how many have reverted to a religious mentality using church in their
self-seeking, in showing neglect in seeking the true relationship offered
through Christ Jesus Even though these foolish virgins knew where to
buy the oil, they still asked the wise virgins for their oil. The thing is
these foolish virgins knew where to go to buy more oil but instead they
lagged behind, made their own excuses in dwelling more in thematerial.
Each day was wrapped more around 'self' and their own
problems - not depending on the Lord to lead but dependency on their
own mind and intellect instead.
These are the people who know where and what they have to do, but
have shyed away due to the cost it may cause them, to make the effort
such as humbling themselves, letting go of worldly ideas and attitudes,
of letting go of people, things, church customs, routines, and again
traditions, to ask God to fill them totally with His Presence through the
Holy Spirit to really seek after Him as total Lord and ruler of their lives,
to allow Him to flow through them just as He flowed through Jesus, as
our Bridegroom, and be as the scriptures and Christ, Himself, said...'Be
ye holy as I am holy'.
How is this possible?... only as we surrender with our whole heart and
following Him as complete Lord of our lives. Sadly, however, the foolish
virgins have only stepped back in their complacency and
procrastinating...Maybe, tomorrow! I'm just fine the way I am!
5) Could it be that these church goers do not see? Do they realize that
they are risking what is most important? Do they not wonder why Jesus
said to them...'Depart from me...I never knew you!' They ignore the
signs the Rapture could happen at any moment and the possibility they
could be left behind and needlessly suffer the wrath during the
Tribulation and the certain death at the hands of the Anti-Christ? As the
Word says...'Watch, therefore, for you know neither the day or the
hour.'..Matthew 25: ll-13.
It is my hope that these words 'Awaken' your faith and fear at this
moment to decide where you stand - among the 'wise' or among the
'foolish' virgins.
Well, if you still feel that you do not have the 'Reserve Oil', there is still
time. Seek Him now with your whole heart. It's time to want Him more
than life itself. I pray that you are even now hungry for more of Him.
Even if you do have the Spirit within, keep watching and looking up for
your redemption draweth nigh. Never let your oil run out so you will be
fully prepared at His coming.
Closing Prayer...We thank you, Lord, that you don't give up on us. You
keep calling us..calling us home. In Jesus' Name...Amen.
