Overflowing – Overcoming

Wonderful friends,

Here is a word the Lord gave me last Sunday to share in our church. We need to be filled to overflowing to overturn...to overcome the works of darkness. Overflowing = Overcoming!

Jesus promised us that rivers of living waters would flow out of our hearts.

When is the last time that happened to you?

Here's a basic truth...nothing can flow out of anywhere until it is filled up beyond what it can hold.

If we want to be effective witnesses for Christ, there has to be an overflow of His Spirit in us.

We need to live in a place of being filled to the point of constant overflow. This can only come out of our relationship with the Holy Spirit.

To be filled with the Spirit is not an option...nor is it a suggestion...It is a commandment!

Jesus told His disciples to wait until they were clothed, ie filled w/power from above. He knew they needed the power of His Holy Spirit to enable them to be His witnesses and to do the same things they had seen Him do. Proclaim the Kingdom of heaven is at hand...heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, and cast out demons!

Clearly the Good News, the Gospel of the Kingdom, is Jesus...and Jesus is about power! We simply can not do the same and greater works without His power. There is no way we can overthrow the works of darkness without the overflow of the Holy Spirit.

Let this word stir up a renewed desire to spend time in sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit! He alone can impart to us all that we need to stand without compromise in a world of increasing darkness and evil.
