THE MIRROR

MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL...WHO'S THE FAIREST OF THEM ALL?

The answer would depend upon the reflection we see in the mirror. The mirror I'm talking about here is God's Word.

The Message Bible says it this way:

'Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting

the Word go in one ear and out the other. 'Act' on what you hear! Those who hear and don't act are

like those who glance in the mirror, walk, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.” James l:22-24

If we see ourselves as God does and act according to His commands, we will be over-taken with blessings! Alas, disobedience also has its consequences.

“These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock. But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don't work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.” Matthew 7:24-27

The choice is ours.

The fairest one is the one who acts and obeys God out of trust and love!
