How To Hear The Voice of God

Scripture: Psalm l6:lI...'You will show me the way of life granting me the
joy of Your Presence and the pleasures of living with you.'
Here are some ways to learn to hear God's voice:

* Spend time with God. Set aside a time and special place just for you
both to meet with Him and let Him know that you have His full attention.

* Read the Bible and Study the Bible to learn about God's character
and to help recognize His voice.

* Pray...Seek His Face...Spend time talking to God even throughout
your day.

* Ask questions: Ask God to speak and listen. He will speak through
your heart or conscience.

* Be still...again, find a quiet place to listen to God without distraction.

* Picture Jesus sitting there beside you or standing. Fix your eyes on
Him and listen to God's voice through your thoughts or any answers that
may pop into your head after asking your question.

* Start conversations as you go through your day in times where you
are alone or quiet.

* Pursue God with your whole heart. The more you seek Him the
more we will find Him.

* God never leaves us once we invite Him into our lives. And He will
respond to our desire as we seek for more of Him.

Here are some ways that you can train yourself to hear God's voice:

l. Most of the time, God will speak inwardly through your heart. God
can speak vocally as some can testify, but He usually speaks through
the still small voice through your heart or conscience.

2. Realize that hearing from God is not a hard thing but a natural and
normal thing.

3. When you believe, you can hear from God, you will hear from
God. But, if you believe that you cannot hear from God, you block the
way for Him to speak. Only believe!!!

4. After He speaks, act on what you have heard, to what He says.
Satan will speak resulting in fear. The Lord speaks with love, joy, and
peace. Once you hear the Voice of God, you will always know when the
Lord is speaking to your heart. It all has to do with belief and acting on
that belief.

Closing Prayer: Father, you have 'promised' to show me the path I am
to take. I thank you that you have heard my prayer and my heart's cry.
Come fill me with all that you are and speak and become my closest
friend. Speak to me as I speak to you.
Open up your ways to me and help me learn of all the ways that you
have already spoken to me and yet I never realized it. In Jesus'
Name....Amen.
