The Divine Romance
In your heart and through your life, perhaps, you experienced the day of meeting that true person that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with forever. The Bible says in Genesis 2:l8 when speaking about Adam...'It is not good for the man to be alone, I will make him a helper 'suitable' for him'. And, as we continue through the Scripture, all the way to the end, it describes the Bride-of-Christ and how she has made herself ready.
Through the scriptures, we see how the Bride longs for her Bridegroom. (See...The Song of Solomon). She longs and yearns for her beloved, her Bridegroom. She longs and yearns for Him and for His return to come take her away to be with Him forever. My Question is...But, have we ever considered our Bridegroom's longing that He has for us? In the Hebrew tradition, the father chose the bride for the son. The son would then have to go and meet the father of the bride and ask him for her hand in marriage. they, then, were to pay a price for the purchase of the bride. In Proverbs 3l:l0, it says, 'An excellent wife, who can find: For her worth is far above jewels.
Jesus paid the ultimate price of His very life for you. The Heavenly Father chose you as Christ's Beloved Bride. 'For you have been bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body...I Corinthians 6:20. 'Conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold...but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.' I Peter l:l7-l9. You are so precious to the Lord. Do you understand how valuable you are to Him? You are His 'Pearl of Great Price' as He is to be yours..who gave His all to purchase you by His own blood.
When He looks at you, He is ravished. You are all together lovely to Him. He is totally enamored with you. He is an absolutely amazing Bridegroom and has given you everything He has. In Ephesians l: l7-18...Paul says, 'That the God, of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him...I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of His glory of His inheritance in the saints.' In John l4:l3, Jesus said He was going to the Father's house to prepare a place for you and would return 'to receive you onto Himself, that where He is, you may be also.' I remember a time while my husband and I were dating, he was away on duty in the Air Force, that he was all I could think of every second of everyday. He was on my mind when I woke up, all through the day, and as I crawled into bed at night. All we could do was think about one another. That is how Jesus feels about us as well. He has gone to prepare a place for His beloved. Thoughts of His Bride never ends. He is love struck and cannot wait to gather His Bride unto Himself, but He has been restrained until the Father says that it is time. His Bride is fully captured by Him. He is totally captivated by her. And, she lives her life fully focused on Him, as she awakes in the morning, all through her day, and as she falls asleep at night. It isn't because she 'has to', but she is over-come with love for Jesus, her Bridegroom. He has truly captivated her heart as well, as she has captured His.
When you fall into this 'Divine Love', it is so beautiful. When you fall into this love, it is never a chore. It is the most wonderful thing ever. You cannot help yourself. You never think, "Oh, I have to strive to earn, or work to choose to think about the one I love today." No..This love just flows from your heart, as His love flows toward yours. Would you want this type of love? Would this be something you treasure and desire more than anything else on earth? If you want this kind of love, the Lord is just standing there waiting for His Beloved to respond in kind. Look up to Him. Receive Him and allow His love to transform your life today. Matthew 6:21s...'Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.' The Hebrew Bride focused continually on her Bridegroom.
She lived and yearned for the day of her future with Him. Jesus is returning for a Bride full of love and adoration for her Bridegroom, always expecting and longing for Him and for His return, as He adores His Bride from Heaven and is so very anxious to receive her onto Himself. Closing Prayer: Lord, we get so caught up in the ways of this world. The world seems to be falling apart as we speak. Somehow, I have forgotten just how wonderful and a true love affair with you can be. My heart has been aching. Please forgive me for feeling I must work out my salvation following the world's ways with all its cruelty and lack of love. Fill me afresh and I ask now for your heavenly agape love to fall upon me that I may dwell in all you want me to feel and be as your Bride. I love You! In Jesus' Name...Amen.
