The Apprehended

Scripture: Philippians 3:l2...'Not as though I have already attained,
either were already perfect, but I follow after, if indeed, I may apprehend
of Christ Jesus.'

Firstly, let's look at the meaning of 'apprehended'...to arrest, seize, to
become aware or perceive, to grasp with the understanding, to grasp.

l. Christianity should be thrilling and exciting. If it is dull, it's not real
Christianity.

2. Christians are never satisfied and always want more of God. They
have an insatiable thirst for more.

3. Christians have a clear aim and goal in life to know God. They
press toward the mark of the prize of knowing more of Him.

4. Christians concentrate on the goal of knowing Christ in a real and
personal way above all else. They are only focused on one
thing...knowing Him.

5. Christians live this way because of the high calling of God in
Christ. They look to Jesus as their example and motivation.

6. Christians are encouraged by the examples of saints who have
gone on before them like Paul, Abraham, David.

7. The ultimate prize of knowing Christ face-to-face, motivates them
to live a life focused on Jesus.
